OAHGL Dota 2 Season 2 League Ticket

$10.00

Sold Out

This ticket enters you into Season 2 of the OAHGL Dota 2 league. 100% of ticket proceeds will go toward the Ottawa Food Bank as part of the OAHGL's current funding drive.

Season 2 of the league is going to be BIGGER AND BETTER than the first. The OAHGL crew is busy working on the following features*:

  • A league website where you can look up league, team, and player stats, connect with your teammates, and whatever other things we code up.
  • An ingame ticket, so that you can keep a league memento and watch any league games whenever you want.
  • A trophy, for the winning team to hoist in front of all their adoring fans.
  • Better casting #productionvalue, and weekly casts that won't stop half way through the season because of logistics issues (SORRY ABOUT THAT)

*Some or all of these features may happen. We're working hard, but provide no guarantees.

Some things to know before signing up:

  • All skill levels are welcome!
  • League games will happen on Thursday evenings, from 8PM to 10PM.
  • The league will run (tentatively) from September 11th to the end of November.
  • Sign ups are done individually. Teams will be drafted by captains.
  • Tickets are limited! There are currently 32 players tickets and 8 captain tickets. More will be added if demand is high.
  • Finalist teams (maybe the top two, maybe the top four?) will be facing off at a charity LAN event in Ottawa some time near the end of November, so you might need to also buy a ticket to a sweet LAN party, in addition to the cost of your ticket. Life is hard, we know.

Players and captains

  • Players have no extra responsibilities outside of attending games, playing their best, being sportsmanlike, and having a good time.
  • Captains will be responsible for drafting a team of players, leading their team in battle, settling team disagreements, and being patient with newer players.
  • Captains need a good knowledge of Dota 2, IE. be able to draft a working team of heroes and make good calls in-game. Most of all, though, they should be friendly and helpful and willing to put in some extra effort to make sure their team is a success.
